This episode is a narration of chapters 2 & 3 of the classic horror story "The Willows" written by Algernon Blackwood. The unnamed protagonist and his companion only known as 'the Swede' have embarked on a canoeing adventure on the Danube, where they will be confronted by the supernatural, unknowable power of nature. Fear will be personified among the willows.
