Just timeless! You won't be disappointed.....read it till you've got it memorized, then you can tell the story!........and watch the sparkle in your youngsters eyes!.......what fun!
A Classic for All Ages
Like the Muppet Show of the 1970s, The Wind in the Willows is a 'children's' classic that adults can love too. Our very grown-up book club read it as a December treat (coming off The Odyssey, no less), and all were enchanted by it. All of the animal characters speak to an aspect of our nature, Toad perhaps most conspicuously (and despicably, and enjoyably). It was a real treat, and the illustrations in this edition are more than worthy of the plot. Indeed, while reading this on an airplane, a passenger across the aisle noticed them and commented on their beauty!
A Beloved Classic
This classic children's tale came up in a conversation and it compelled me to buy it again. It's one you can glean great wisdom from as an adult. It's perfect for reading out loud to your children.
A true classic
My mother read this story aloud to the family, when I was a child, and so it holds a special place in my heart. The language is beautiful, the descriptions and characters charming.
