Well, they didn’t communicate directly at all.
The use of flares and flags were the main communication methods, but all of that changed with the introduction of an Irish- Italian man named Gulielmo Marconi and his revolutionary wireless invention.
Titanic was equipped with a Marconi machine, and two wireless operators. Hear how junior wireless operator, Harold Bride, recalls the night of the sinking in a letter he sent to the Marconi company after the disaster.
