The wisdom of man equals abortion. When a woman faces an unplanned pregnancy, worldly wisdom says abort. Our first response to an overwhelming crisis should not be to thrash and grasp anxiously, seeking salvation from the world, as if the sea could save us from drowning. In God alone we find provision of life and every good thing. Trusting in man’s judgment contrary to God’s assessment is the beginning of sin, a folly as old as Adam. Trusting in manmade solutions to save us from the poor choices that result from misplaced trust only deepens the problem. The door of salvation from all crisis hinges on confession and repentance before God.
