A Public Affair

The Women Who Almost Made it to the Supreme Court

Listen Later

On the heels of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s historic nomination to the Supreme Court, Wednesday host Carousel Bayrd talks with law professor Hannah Brenner Johnson about her new co-authored book, Shortlisted: Women in the Shadows of the Supreme Court, which tells “the inspiring and previously untold history of the women considered—but not selected—for the US Supreme Court.”
Hannah Brenner Johnson is Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Law at California Western School of Law, where her research focuses on the intersection of law and gender. She is the co-author (with Renee Knake Jefferson) of Shortlisted: Women in the Shadows of the Supreme Court (NYU Press, 2020).
