A new sermon from Jeremiah 23:9-40!

At the end of the day, you either have the Word of God or the word of men. Whenever a people abandon the Word of God; whenever a people begin to have hard thoughts of God and hard thoughts of his written Word—God himself with come against those people. And that is exactly what we have in America today.

America is in the sad state that it is currently in because of about 150 years worth of departure from the old Reformed view of 'all of Scripture being applied to all of life.' Compromises were made, sound doctrine was marginalized, absolute truth was domesticated, and the result is that now, in 2020, all of the foundations of society are violently shaking and crumbling before our eyes.

What we need is the whole of Scripture rightly proclaimed to the glory of God. We need law and gospel rightly preached from both the Old and New Testaments—which all tell the same story of God’s redemptive purposes in human history.

May this sermon help cultivate a principled love and sincere devotion to Scripture and to the God of Scripture. May the Word of God mold and shape every area of our lives so that Christ may have the glory in all things.
