The Bible is clear. We are not to sorrow, “as those who have no hope.” It doesn’t say that we don’t sorrow in the face of death or the loss of a loved one. We don’t sorrow like those who don’t know the Savior.
The promise for every believer in chapter four is followed by a word of warning in chapter five. The “Day of the Lord” will certainly come.
