Do you know someone who uses very dramatic language? For instance:
They can take the most mundane event and make it sound like the end of the world just through the words they use.
Dramatic language is used by people who are craving attention. They’re exhausting to be around, and worse yet, the drama is contagious. If you manage an overly dramatic person, they’re probably not going to change, and you can expect to find them in the middle of complicated situations often. Communicate calmly and clearly, and set boundaries aimed at limiting the damage the dramatic person can cause on your team.
Manage them gently, knowing you may have to manage them out the door.
