THE WORK AND THE LIFE

Listen Later

In view of God’s example, what should be our attitude towards others- even those who mistreat us?
Matthew 5:44,45.
Note: God is the source of life and joy to the entire universe. Like rays of light from the sun, blessings flow out from Him to all His creatures. And whenever His life lives in the heart of men, it will flow out through them in love and blessings to others.
What is the work of the angels of heaven?
Hebrews 1:14.
Note: Angels are ever engaged in working for the happiness and salvation of Human beings. A selfish heart will consider it humiliating to serve those who are in every way inferior, but this is the work- and the joy- of sinless angels.
When Jesus lived on earth, what was the one great object of His life?
Matthew 20:28,
John 4:34.
What does Jesus’ example mean for us?
1 Peter 2:21.
Note: The spirit of Christ’s self – sacrificing love is the spirit that pervades and controls heaven- the very essence of happiness and joy. This is the spirit that all who truly follows Christ will possess, the work that they do.
When Phillip learned the great truth that Jesus of Nazareth was the Christ, the Son of God, what was the first thing he did?
John 1:45, 46
Likewise, what was Andrew’s first reaction when he discovered Jesus?
John 1:41,42, John 1:28.
How will this effort to bless others react upon us?
Luke 6:38.
What are some of the specific benefits that come to us as a result of working with Jesus in ministry for others?
1 Peter 4:12-14, 16
2 Corinthians 8:9
2 Corinthians 12:9, 10
Philippians 4:11, 13.
What commission has the Savior left us?
Matthew 28:19, 20.
Must we go to faraway lands to fulfill this commission?
Mark 5:18-20
Note: In order to work for Christ, we need not to leave the narrow circle of the home if it is there that our duty lies. In our homes, in the church, among those we meet and do business with, we may carry out the Lord’s commission to make disciples. Jesus Himself spent the greater part of His life here on earth working patiently in the carpenter shop at Nazareth. He was as surely fulfilling His mission going about His humble duties with peasants and fellow workers in Nazareth as He was when healing the sick, working miracles or preaching to the multitudes. So we, too, may walk and work for Jesus in the unnoticed activities of daily life.
How has Jesus shown us that it is not only the talented and influential whom He has called to work for Him?
Mark 13:34.
What attitude should we bring to the work we do for God?
Colossians 3:23, 24.
