  • Ep #127 – I'm Getting a Job. And No, I'm Not Giving Up on My Business.

    I'm getting a part-time job!

Yep, you heard that right. And no, I'm not giving up on my coaching business. Quite the opposite, actually.

After a year of both Johnny and I being self-employed, I've made a decision that, to some people, might look like a step backwards. But to me, it feels like exactly the right thing to do.

Because here's the thing. I've spent far too long feeling like I'm pushing a bloody great boulder uphill. And whilst we've managed to pay our bills, constantly thinking about where the next bit of money is coming from has taken some of the joy out of building my business.

    And I'm done with that.

I want to create a business from a place of joy, excitement and abundance. Not from a place of fear, pressure and I need to get another client to pay the mortgage.

So, in this week's episode, I'm sharing why I've made this decision, what it's taught me about creating safety for myself, and why sometimes the best thing you can do is stop listening to all the shoulds in your head and get really honest about what you actually want.

Because you don't have to keep doing things the hard way. You get to make different choices. And you get to decide what success looks like for you.

Oh, and I've got some exciting plans for the coaching business in 2027 that I'm sharing too!

Have a listen, my friend. ❤️

  • Ep #126 - Are You 'Shoulding' All Over Yourself?

How often do you find yourself doing something simply because you think you should?

You should be doing more. You should be further ahead. You should be spending more time with your family. You should be doing things a certain way because, well, that's just what you're supposed to do, isn't it?

But have you ever stopped to question whether that's actually what you want?

In this week's episode, I'm sharing a very personal example of how I caught myself building my business around what I thought I should be doing, rather than what genuinely brought me joy.

And I'll be honest with you, it felt shit!

So I gave myself permission to question everything. What did I actually want? What excited me? What brings me so much joy to do? And why wasn't I following the vision I'd had for myself for years?

That little bit of curiosity has led to some exciting changes in my business, which I'm sharing with you today, including my new direction as a motivational speaker and the introduction of my Deep Clarity Sessions.

But this episode isn't really about my business. It's about you.

Because I wonder where in your life you're making decisions based on what you think you should do, rather than what you actually want.

I'm not here to tell you what you should or shouldn't be doing. That's none of my business!

I simply want to encourage you to get curious, question those expectations and recognise that you have far more choice than you might currently realise.

Have a listen, my friend. You might just discover a 'should' that's been keeping you stuck without you even realising it.

  • Ep #125 - I Switched My Phone Off for a Week — Here’s What Happened

I switched my phone off for an entire week.

Not on silent. Not “I’ll just check it once a day”. Actually OFF.

    And it was fascinating.

Because as brilliant as our phones are — and honestly, they make so many parts of life easier — we’ve also become incredibly dependent on them.

In this episode, I’m sharing what I had to put in place to make a phone-free week actually work, what I noticed when I stopped automatically reaching for my phone, and the unexpected calm that came when all that outside noise disappeared.

But this episode isn’t really about your phone.

    It’s about something much bigger.

Why do you feel like you need to be available to everyone, all the time?

What would happen if you weren’t?

And how much are you missing the people — and the life — that are right in front of you because part of your attention is always somewhere else?

I’m also going to lovingly challenge you on control, that belief that “it all needs to be me”, and why the world probably won’t fall apart if someone has to wait for an answer.

Because your phone is an incredible tool.

It just doesn’t need to be your lifeline.

And you definitely don’t need to switch it off for a whole week to start experimenting with this. Try an hour. Notice what comes up. Notice how often you reach for it. Notice what happens when you allow yourself to be fully where you actually are.

This one might make you feel a little twitchy… and that’s kind of the point. 😉

  • Ep #124 - I Gave Up Sweet Stuff for a Month… and Didn’t Die

I gave up anything sweet for a month… and, somehow, survived.

In this episode, I’m sharing what happened during my Sweet-Free September — not just with sugar, but with cravings, habits and all those little moments where my brain decided I definitely needed something sweet.

What surprised me most was how quickly it became less about the food and more about the habit.

That after-dinner urge. Friday night treats. The automatic reach for something sweet without even thinking about whether I actually wanted it.

Taking sweet stuff out for a month gave me the chance to notice my triggers, ride out the discomfort and remind myself that an urge doesn’t mean I have to act on it.

So if there’s something you keep doing on autopilot — sugar, wine, scrolling, snacking, whatever it is — this episode will help you start noticing what’s really going on underneath it.

Because sometimes the thing you think you “need” is simply a habit your brain has got very bloody good at repeating.

  • Ep #123 - I Climbed a Mountain. Was It Worth It? Absolutely Not!
I Climbed a Mountain. Was It Worth It? Absolutely Not! 😂

What started as a lovely little walk to a mountain lake turned into hours of climbing, aching joints, a fair bit of swearing and me seriously questioning my life choices!

But somewhere between scrambling up boulders, reaching the summit and desperately wanting to get back down, I learnt five valuable lessons about life, setting goals and achieving the things we really want.

In this week's episode, I'm sharing my mountain-climbing adventure and what it taught me about taking small steps, managing your mind when things get bloody hard and questioning whether the goal you're working so hard towards is actually what you want.

Because here's the thing: just because you CAN achieve something doesn't necessarily mean you WANT to.

And if you're someone who's constantly pushing herself, rushing from one thing to the next and putting pressure on yourself to get everything done, I think you'll find these lessons particularly useful.

Grab a cuppa, get comfortable and come climbing with me. I promise you won't have to walk nearly as far as I did! 😂

  • Ep #122 - You’re Allowed to Do Less — interview with Christi Gmyr

This week I’m joined by fellow coach and licensed mental health counsellor Christi Gmyr for a brilliant conversation about burnout, motherhood and the ridiculous pressure so many working mums put on themselves to do everything — and do it all well.

We talk about where those expectations come from, why the word “should” can create so much unnecessary pressure, and what happens when you start asking yourself a very simple question:

    What if I didn’t?

What if the house wasn’t spotless?
    What if dinner wasn’t perfect?
What if you asked for help?
What if you stopped trying to squeeze absolutely everything in?
What if you allowed yourself to do a little bit less?

We also explore why taking time for yourself isn’t selfish, why an hour spent on yourself can actually be an hour invested, and how letting go of some of the pressure can help you show up as a calmer, more present version of yourself — at home and at work.

If you constantly feel like you should be doing more, managing things better or somehow keeping everybody happy, this episode is your permission slip to put some of it down.

Because you really don’t have to do it all.

  • Ep #121 - The Summer I Stopped ‘Shoulding’ Myself

After a gorgeous summer break, I’m back — and this episode is a bit of a catch-up on what the last few weeks have taught me.

From having a completely phone-free week, to navigating the change that comes with teenage boys becoming more independent, to unexpectedly climbing a mountain I absolutely did not enjoy, there have been plenty of opportunities to watch my brain in action.

I’m also sharing why I spent part of the summer working behind a bar and pot washing at weddings, what that brought up for me, and some of the thoughts I’ve been having about my business and what I want next.

This episode is really about change, choice and giving yourself enough space to notice what you actually want — rather than automatically following all the things you think you should be doing.

If you’ve been rushing, pushing, overthinking or feeling like something needs to shift, this one might give you a few things to think about.

  • Ep #120 - Letting Go of the “Shoulds” and Trusting What’s Next

In this episode, I’m sharing honestly about the season I’m in right now — taking a break, stepping back from the pressure to have it all figured out, and listening to the part of me that knows something needs to change.

For a while, I’ve felt like I’ve been pushing a boulder uphill. I kept telling myself what I “should” be doing, even when it no longer felt right. So this summer, I’m choosing to pause, go into my cocoon, and trust that clarity will come when I give it space.

We’re talking about the fear of stepping into the unknown, letting go of old expectations, trusting your energy, and giving yourself permission to evolve before you know exactly what the next version of your life or business will look like.

Because sometimes the bravest thing you can do is stop forcing, switch off, and trust what’s trying to emerge.

  • Ep #119 - Intrusive Thoughts and Big Feelings with Emmie Fulton

    I absolutely LOVED this conversation.

In this episode, I’m joined by my friend, psychologist, solo mum of three and creator of Hero Cards, Emmie Fulton, for a gorgeous conversation about intrusive thoughts, big feelings and the emotional tools our children need long before adulthood.

And yes, we go there. We shared our intrusive thoughts (you have them too and they're normal btw). We felt uncomfortable. It was freeing. If you listen, it will be freeing for you too.

Emmie shares how her work in the NHS, mental health, behavioural science and motherhood inspired her to create Hero Cards — a set of cards designed to help children understand what’s going on in their minds, recognise their feelings, and build emotional resilience in a simple, practical and accessible way.

We talk about why thoughts are not facts, why big feelings don’t mean something has gone wrong, and how we can support our children without needing to fix everything for them. We also explore perfectionism, people-pleasing, avoidance, anxiety, and the importance of helping children feel safe with the full human experience.

And as always, this conversation isn’t just for the kids. There is so much in here for us as grown-ups too.

If you’ve ever wanted your child to understand themselves better, feel less alone in their worries, or have tools to manage those big emotional moments, this episode is a beautiful place to start.

  • Ep #118 - Stop Apologising for What You Know

Have you ever found yourself shrinking back, downplaying what you know, or apologising for your experience before you’ve even said the sentence?

In this episode, I’m talking about how to start stepping into your authority — especially when you’re in a space where people might underestimate you, dismiss you, or see you as less experienced than you actually are.

Because here’s the truth: you do not need to apologise for your wisdom. You do not need to make yourself smaller so other people feel more comfortable. And you do not need to wait for someone else to validate you before you start holding yourself differently.

I’m sharing five practical steps to help you begin shifting the way you see yourself, speak about yourself, and show up in your work and life — even when it feels uncomfortable.

This episode is for you if you know, deep down, that you’re capable, experienced and powerful… but you’re ready to actually start believing it.

    You’ll learn:

    • Why other people’s first impression of you is not yours to control
    • How your own identity shapes the way you hold yourself
    • Why discomfort is part of confidence-building
    • The importance of celebrating small wins
    • How to begin stepping into the woman you already know you are

Stop apologising for what you know. It’s time to own it.
