Some, by faith, received a measure of vindication and acclaim in this world though the world opposed them and their God. Others, by faith, suffered greatly and did not see their vindication or reward in this world. By faith these looked for a greater reward than this world could offer. The unknown heroes of faith, as well as those whose name are known to all, considered it all joy to serve Christ rather than have seek the momentary pleasures of this world.----The world in this context is to be understood as humanity in rebellion against God.
