He is an award winning print and broadcast journalist for over 50 years. He has written for publications as diverse as The National Enquirer and the New York Times, Fortune and Mother Jones, CBS News and Hard Copy. He is the author of A Slight Epidemic, a well-received account of the Black Plague in Los Angeles. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Lori, two sons and two dogs. In 2010 his new friend Roman Ward (nee Wisniewski) asked him to look at the journal his mother kept during their six-year odyssey of dodging the Nazis, Polish bounty hunters, neo-Nazis and G.I. bigots during and in the aftermath of World War II. You can find his book HANGING HITLER'S LONGJOHNS on http://www.hanginghitlerslongjohns.com
Hour 2 guest: ANGELA GUIDOLIN
Travelling around the world as an air hostess or an astronaut was a dream she had nurtured since childhood. But in her teens, she realised that she preferred literature and philosophy to mathematics, physics and chemistry; that piloting an aircraft would be much more difficult than driving a car; and that airhostesses were usually taller than she was. She has a master’s degree in Business Economics in Venice. Her love for science fiction, and the realisation that writing would allow her to fulfil her childhood dream of travelling, although just with her imagination, convinced her to teleport myself to London to attend a one-day workshop on what makes SF tick, led by bestselling SF author David Wingrove.
