On this episode of The Statist Quo, Matt discusses a movie he saw over the weekend, the soon-to-be critically acclaimed 1917, a story about two British soldier's odyssey behind German lines, in a race against time. Some have claimed this is a great anti-war movie, but Matt isn't so sure about that. More honest than usual, maybe. We use the movie and some of the scenes as jumping off points to talk about what the war was really like, and compare and contrast historical accounts with the depictions in the movie.
Mild Spoilers Alert
Finally, we summarize the REAL WW1 conspiracy that doesnt appear in your high school text book, as well as run the counter factual, talking about how the world would be different without the Great War, and its effects on the world at large and America in particular.
