Do you know what every letter in the LGBTQIA+ acronym means? Today we have Mimi from A Gender Agenda join us to discuss sex, gender, and sexuality. We break down the binary ideologies around sex, gender, and sexuality to better explain where and how the queer community intersects in the traditional landscape of heteronormativity. Mimi also explains the use of pronouns and their importance along with ways we can support and show our allyship to the queer community.
I can’t thank Mimi enough for joining me on this episode. As a cis-gendered, heterosexual woman, I found this to be incredibly valuable. I think this episode should be listened to by all, so we can continue to create safe and supportive environments for the LGBTQIA + community because we still have such a long way to go.
The company Mimi works for is called A Gender Agenda (AGA), an organisation that actively engages in increasing public awareness and understanding of intersex, trans, and gender diversity issues. In addition to training and education, AGA provides advocacy and support services, information and resources, and work in human rights and law reform.Website: genderrights.org.auInstagram: @a_gender_agendaFacebook: A Gender Agenda
