This fall marks the 20th Annual Prechter Lecture, a milestone celebration honoring two decades of the Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Program.

In recognition of this anniversary, the lecture will focus on the past, present and future of the program — highlighting the vision and legacy that launched it, the scientific discoveries and growth achieved over the years, and the next chapter of research, clinical integration and innovation in bipolar disorder. May is Mental Health Awareness Month. To celebrate, The Wrap employee podcast brought on experts from across the university to discuss the importance of mental health and the resources our team members have to protect theirs. 

Kelcey Stratton, the Chief Behavioral Health Strategist at U-M, first explained what mental health is and how it manifests — whether through anxiety, depression, OCD, addiction and more.

Next, Whitney Begeman from the Office of Counseling and Workplace Resilience, joined to talked about her office’s programs, while Bri Carpenter from MHealthy broke down her team’s offerings, ranging from workshops to cooking classes, tobacco cessation programs and more.

Nursing at Michigan Poster Day returns May 7, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Towsley Center, as a highlight of Nurses Week at U-M Health.  

Members of the Nursing Poster Day organizing committee joined The Wrap to discuss the many opportunities surrounding the event.

A liver transplant improves the length and quality of life for children with liver diseases, liver tumors, or metabolic conditions that will be improved or cured with liver transplantation. The Pediatric Liver Transplant Program at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital is the first and largest program in the state. Since 1986, team members have performed more than 400 pediatric liver transplants.
