Last episode I hit pause on a movie because it was mirroring my own nervous system back at me and I couldn't take it. This episode I finish it, and I finish the thought.

Like Stars on Earth follows a dyslexic kid getting punished by a system that has no room for how his mind actually works. Sound familiar. I talk about what happened when I sat back down to watch the ending: a new teacher walks in, sees the kid for what he is instead of what he's failing at, and everything shifts. Einstein, Edison, da Vinci, all named as men who couldn't read or write the way the system wanted either.

I connect that straight to my own frustration with funnels, pipelines, and selling things I hate building. Why the world isn't built for neurodivergent people, why that's not a flaw, and why the outliers are the ones who actually move humanity forward. Also: my 4am biphasic sleep experiment, why I don't believe in Darwinian evolution, and why I built an AI dictation system so I can work the way Voltaire and Agatha Christie did instead of the way productivity culture tells me to.

Watched Like Stars on Earth (Taare Zameen Par) tonight. A kid getting punished for being wired different. Had to stop halfway through.

Started crying, and it wasn’t really about the kid. It was about me at that age, the version of me that got good at performing instead of falling apart. High achiever. Competent. No one had to yell at me because I’d already learned how to make myself acceptable.

Take away the structure and the systems now, and I watch myself fall apart in real time. Even mid cry, some part of my brain was already trying to turn it into content. That’s the sickness. Monetizing your own grief before you’ve even felt it.
