Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.  Google is out with its annual year in search…looking at the top trending searches in a range of categories this year.  Number one overall….a bit of surprise was a search for NBA.  Google’s Sarah Armstrong says that was driven by fans happy to see the return of live sports.  When it comes to overall searches and news…Covid did not make the top ten…but Armstrong says…

“Where we really see Covid so show up is in this Near Me category.  Covid does come to the top of the list there.  We see Covid vaccine near me, Covid testing near me.”

No surprises in the music category…with Olivia Rodrigo having three of the top ten most searched for songs.  And in TV show… Squid Game was the most searched for series.  There’s more at yearinsearch.google.
