Listen Later

This week James and Pete talk about the same sex marriage result, SA scrapping the bank tax, the IPA’s Christmas present recommendations and the latest on Trump’s tax cuts. We talk to IPA Policy Director Simon Breheny on the same sex marriage result, what comes next, what protections we would like to see in the same sex marriage Bill and whether we need a Marriage Act at all (10:30-26:52). We also talk to IPA Senior Fellow and Postdoctoral Fellow at RMIT Dr Chris Berg who has just returned from a meeting of the Mont Pellerin society who tells us what leading free market thinkers are saying about the state of liberalism internationally and what challenges there are, and also gives us a crash course in blockchain (27:11-46:01). At the end we question whether Taylor Swift needs to make her political views public, Keurig coffee machines, whether you can do yoga near a goat and why the AFL is getting rid of bounces.
