Oral History Association of South Africa National conference

The Oral History Association (OHASA) will hold its national conference under the theme “The world in troubled times: Oral History Challenges and Opportunities”

In 2021 Charlotte Mannya Maxeke would have turned 150 years of age, making the celebration a very important milestone in the historiography and collection of new research of South Africa. To compliment this milestone, South Africa is currently experiencing what some may call a women leadership crisis and gender-based violence against women. It is necessary to silence and reflect on the teachings of the giants of the 20th century.
