On this week's episode, I was joined by performance analyst, Fernando Alva. We talked about Alva's upbringing as a New Jersey native. Also, I learned more about his playing experience as well as his professional career in MLS. We talked about Alva's current role and his vision for the future.
Fernando Alva is an American with Peruvian roots. He played soccer growing up in his hometown of New Jersey. Soon after he started his coaching phase in youth and club soccer. Furthermore, he became a performance analyst because he has always been passionate about analyzing team performance, opposition, etc.

On this week's episode, I was joined by the STL Soccer Doc, JP Thompson. We talked about JP's upbringing as a St. Louis local. Also, I learned more about his college playing days as well as his studies as a medical professional.
We talked about JP's current role and his future. JP Thompson was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He played soccer at Westminster College. After his retirement as a player, he decided to enroll at the Washington University School of Medicine to become a doctor of physical therapy.

Bienvenidos al primer y nuevo episodio de 2022 de #TheAlexWay Show. Tuve la oportunidad de conversar con el director técnico del Club Deportivo Olimpia, Pablo Hernán Lavallén. El profesor Lavallén es un entrenador, catedrático y ex jugador profesional de fútbol. Actualmente el profesor reside en la ciudad de Tegucigalpa, Honduras. El profesor Lavallén y yo pudimos hablar acerca de sus inicios en el futbol así como también de su carrera como entrenador profesional. Luego de llegar a una final de la Copa Sudamericana con el Club Atlético Colón, ahora el profesor dirige al equipo más grande de Centroamérica. Las expectativas en Honduras son altas, pero el profesor confía en que él cumplirá con los objetivos trazados.
El profesor Lavallén es un hombre con ética y fé. Nada puede igualar el amor que él tiene por su familia. Espero que disfrutes de un episodio de calidad.

On this week's episode, I was joined by St. Louis City SC MLS Next Academy Assistant Coach David Critchley. We discussed David's upbringing as a soccer player back in his home country of England. Also, I learned more about his college player days as well as his youth coaching career in the U.S. We talked about David's current STL City SC coaching position and his vision for the future.
David Critchley is originally from Liverpool, England. He played soccer in the U.S. as an international student. After his retirement as a player, he decided to start his coaching journey in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Later on he moved to Missouri and became Lou Fusz Athletic's Technical Director as well as GA Director.
It was so great to learn more about David's life story. He's not only a passionate student of the game, but also a USSF A and UEFA B licensed coach. David's dream is to coach professional soccer at the MLS level. Hope you enjoy this interview as much as I did. #TheAlexWay

Bienvenidos sean a un nuevo episodio junto a el director metodológico del Club Deportivo Mac Allister Martin Beanatte. El profesor Beanatte es un director técnico licencia A recibido en ATFA. Actualmente Martin reside en la localidad de Toby en la Pampa. Conversamos acerca de su trayecto como ex jugador de futbol 11 al igual que su experiencia como entrenador en diferentes niveles y presente como director metodológico y de su vision hacia el futuro.
El profesor Martin Beanatte ha logrado adquirir todo tipo de capacitaciones deportivas a través de la ATFA, Club Atletico Boca Juniors, Club Atletico River Plate, etc. Ademas Martin es el director metodológico de futbol infantil en su actual Club Deportivo Mac Allister. Martin también de desempeñar en su club como el director técnico de reserva: Division Sub-20.
Martin es un hombre con principios y valores muy fuertes. El profe Beanatte ama a su familia y su club. Él desea algún día poder dirigir en primera division. Sin embargo una de sus mayores aspiraciones es de siempre tener una conexión con las divisiones inferiores para poder desarrollar a los jóvenes de la mejor manera posible.

On this week's episode, I was joined by Missouri Valley College's Women's Soccer team Assistant Coach Ana Bejarano. We discussed Ana's player experience as a former Sevilla FC professional player. We also learned more about her college coaching career in the U.S. We talked about Ana's journey as an international student in America's Midwest as well as her origins back in Spain.
Ana Bejarano is originally from Aracena, Spain. She was a soccer player for over 15 years. She was able to reach 2nd Division with Sevilla FC in the Spanish Women's Liga. Her playing career brought her to the United States to study abroad and continue to play the beautiful game at Missouri Valley College where she played soccer for an additional 3 years before retiring. After her retirement as a player, she decided to coach at her alma mater. Later on she went as far as to get her Master's degree from Lindenwood University.
It was so pleasant to learn about Ana's life story. She's not only a passionate student of the game, but also a UEFA C licensed coach. Ana's dream is to coach professional soccer in La Liga becoming the first ever woman to coach men's soccer back in her home country. I'm grateful Ana became my first female soccer professional guest. Bienvenidos sean a un nuevo episodio junto a el director deportivo de BeSport y jugador profesional de C.D. Cuscatlán Futsal de la segunda division de futsal de su país natal de El Salvador. El profesor Kevin Rivera es licenciado en mercadeo y publicidad egresado de los Estados Unidos con maestría en dirección deportiva. Actualmente Kevin tiene mas de 8 años de en futbol formativo, juvenil, colegial, universitario y futbol sala. Conversamos acerca de su trayecto como ex jugador de futbol 11 como futbolista semi profesional, experiencia como entrenador en diferentes niveles, presente en como director deportivo y de su vision hacia el futuro.
El profesor Kevin Rivera ha sacado los cursos clase D y C junto a la federación de futbol de El Salvador. También ha estudiado su curso clase D con la federación de los Estados Unidos. Adicionalmente ha logrado alcanzar una maestría de alto rendimiento deportivo junto al comité olímpico de Chile. Finalmente Kevin ha tomado cursos de los siguientes países: Colombia, Brasil, Argentina, Mexico, etc.
Kevin es un hombre con prioridades como su fe, familia, pareja y deporte. Disfrute mucho de mi conversación con el profesor y amigo Kevin Rivera ya que somos estudiantes y apasionados del deporte mas hermoso del mundo.

Nayrobi Vargas is a 14 year old Christian young man who currently plays for MLS Next FC Dallas. Nayrobi was born in Honduras. At the age of five, him and his family left to start a life in the United States. Nayrobi has lived in the states of New York, North Carolina and Texas due to his parents' multiple jobs over time. Today, it seems the U.S. and Honduras soccer federations are keeping a close eye on him thanks to his impressive statistics at FC Dallas U15 Youth Academy team.
Nayrobi has been playing for FC Dallas since 2017. Throughout his athletic journey with the club, he has always produced incredible statistics. For example, during the 2019-2020 season, Nayrobi was able to score 12 goals and make 15 assists in only 20 games. Furthermore, he has achieved outstanding individual awards such as the 2019 Rayados Cup top goal scorer and FC Dallas top season goal scorer. Recently, Nayrobi was invited to participate in both the U17 Honduras Youth National team as well as the U15 U.S. Youth National team camps in the year 2020.
Nayrobi is a strong Christian young man who prioritizes his faith and family. Nayrobi's father, Luther Chimilio Vargas, has been an important part of his development, for Mr. Vargas is a former professional player from Real C.D. España in the Honduras Salva Vida soccer league. I had so much fun interviewing Nayrobi as well as having connected with his family. Hope you enjoy this interview and we can all see Nayrobi flourish and become a professional player either here in the U.S. or in Europe one day.

Bienvenidos sean todos y todas a un nuevo episodio junto a el ex jugador profesional del futbol colombiano y ahora reconocido director técnico Luis Fernando Suarez. El profesor Suarez actualmente dirige al Club Deportivo Atletico Bucaramanga de la Categoría Primera A en Colombia. Ademas de ser un ex futbolista profesional, antiguo seleccionador nacional con experiencia mundialista, el profesor Suarez es un educador y conferencista de renombre. Conversamos acerca de su caminar como futbolista profesional, experiencia mundialista en dos diferentes países, presente en la liga nacional de Colombia y de su vision hacia el futuro.
El profesor Luis Suarez nació en Medellín, Colombia el 23 de diciembre de 1959. Inicialmente se desarrolló como futbolista en atlético Nacional donde conquisto la Copa Libertadores y deportivo Pereira. Desde el momento de su retiro se desempeño como asistente técnico en Atlético Nacional.
En 1999 finalmente llega su oportunidad de debutar como director técnico en el equipo de Medellín. Hasta 2004 dirigió en equipos de Colombia y Ecuador, en aquel año es contratado por la selección de futbol de Ecuador, con la cual logra la clasificación al campeonato Mundial de 2006, donde realiza una histórica actuación con el equipo ecuatoriano llegando por primera vez a octavos de final en la historia del país.
En 2007 se retira del cargo en Ecuador para regresar a la dirección de Clubes en Ecuador, Colombia y Perú. En 2011 es contactado por la selección de Honduras para asumir la dirección técnica. Con el equipo centroamericano en categoría sub-23 clasifica a los juegos olímpicos de 2012. Con la selección de mayores consigue clasificar a la copa mundial de 2014 celebrada en Brasil. Además, el conjunto hondureño bajo la dirección del profesor Suarez realiza buenas actuaciones en los torneos de la CONCACAF.
Este conferencista también tuvo paso por clubes de México y Perú. Y su experiencia como DT le ha provisto de capacidad de liderar y dirigir un equipo hacia la consecución de logros, aspecto que se hace evidente en sus conferencias y charlas. On this week's episode, I was joined by St. Louis Scott Gallagher SC MLS Next Head Coach and Director of Coaching Luis Swisher. We discussed his background as a former professional soccer player for his Guatemala men's national team. We also talked about Luis' coaching journey in the United States as a Guatemala international. Luis was kind enough to share more about the wisdom he has acquired throughout the past decade while coaching and developing youth in different states.
Luis Swisher is originally from Guatemala. As a former professional soccer player, Luis played for seven different teams in the Guatemala National First Division league. Luis holds the record of being the first Guatemalan defender to play in Europe and first Central American to play in the Polish League Ekstraklasa (Polonia Warszawa). Furthermore, Luis holds 40 caps with Guatemala's U19 - u23 Youth National Teams and 23 caps with the Guatemala's Men's National Team. Today, Luis is man with a vision to coach professional soccer in the United States.
