This week, Abby and Briana discuss famous disasters, accidents, and show-must-go-on moments in theatre—including a few of their most memorable moments from undergrad. The episode is dedicated to Jason Painter Price.
Tell us about your favorite theatre mishaps on Twitter @whatsnextpodc! We'll share our favorites in an upcoming episode.
Episode Notes:
2) Regarding the Iroquois ballerina: there are varied accounts about what exactly occurred. The dancer from the anecdotes is most likely Nellie Reed, who may have been as young as 17 years old. It's unclear if she was trapped in rigging, if she fell, or if she was lost to the fire in another manner. This is an excellent resource if you'd like to learn more about Nellie and the Iroquois Theatre fire: http://www.iroquoistheater.com/nellie-reed-aerial-ballet-dancer-iroquois-theater-fire-fatality.php
3) For more about Jason and ways to honor him: https://theatre.msu.edu/faculty-and-staff/jason-price/
