In this episode we learn that Jack is the most committed man anyone has ever met. He’s committed to marrying a woman that he definitely saved but who may have actually saved him. He’s committed to saving Boone regardless of the lack of supplies, equipment, or available blood in his own body. Or it might be that Jack is just “committed” to being the hero. Which ever one, he seriously almost commits to chopping off Boone’s leg.
