This week we get into the Phantom Social Worker(s). In early 1990’s, reports of  “ phantom social worker(s)” started in the UK. They would go to a home, request to do a wellness check on the child, then threaten, or try, to take the child away. According to the police, the media created mass hysteria out of nothing. 

However, UK is not the only country to have these “phantom social workers”. Martin Cannon’s book, The Child Stealers, there is evidence of “phantoms” going back to early 1900’s in the US. We dive into some cases then discuss theories as to why there are “phantom social workers”.
