Therapy Memes: Using Humor to Heal with Alex Pack

Listen Later

I am so excited to share this week’s podcast episode with you because my guest is such a source of levity and insight: Alex Pack, psychotherapist and self-proclaimed “meme lord” behind the popular mental health account Future Mind Reader on Instagram. He is an amazing example of someone who has figured out how to balance a humorous, influential public persona while also navigating the clinical world as a professional.

In our discussion, he gave voice to a lot of the inner struggle that comes with being a creator from a place of authenticity: the pressure to create, the difficulty in finding your unique voice, the pushback and criticism from viewers, and the sheer fear that can come from trying to show up. Alex and I also talked about the importance of humor for our souls and our lives, and how a new generation of therapists and healers are finding novel ways to modernize mental wellness and mental health.

Alex is such a testament to the kinds of light leaders who are coming up now. From him, you’ll take away inspiration to keep going in your own authentic journey to be seen. And if you’re looking for a laugh, definitely check out one of my favorite places on the internet, Future Mind Reader!
