I have so many people in my life that I love. I respect. I care deeply about.

And disagree with on almost everything political or societal.

What I've learned is there is my reality, their reality, your reality, the guy down the street's reality…

And none of is right. We may be closer or further from the truth… but in this day and age, if we don't want to cut people out of our lives, we have to learn to listen.

• We all can be "appalled" at what we are seeing, even when we are seeing different things.
• Political conversations can be a gateway to personal relations and understanding.
• Dialing in curiosity goes a long way
• Trusting the intention of the other person, even if you don't agree with the point of view
• Get comfortable with the grey areas. Your ego wont like it…but your relationship will.
