There are so many
other ways to wake up
I have dabbled in them all
but since my mornings
spent with you/baby
they all seem rather small
Your tossled hair,
your sleepy eyes
offer me
a sweet surprise
When you slap that clock
that bids us rise
while I smile as that
cruel alarm dies
early to bed, early to rise
makes for far more
happy girls and guys
Such mornings bring
a sweeter silence
full of possibilities
that are only
found in long
passionate kisses
with you.
long before our
workday's come due
Yet still we hunger....
Love is truly
the ultimate feast.
Let that damn day break
we will spend
no time repairing it.
We have better
things to do,
why count sheep
till our snooze buttons
so quick and rude, intrude
when we can
Joyously count
all of our sighs,
every morning
spent as two.
We will be
couplet,
finding inspiration
in the shadowed
nooks and crannies,
of our early morn
where love blooms.
brighter than the sun
and we can face
the day reborn
Kisses broken only
by whispered
endearments,
and the soprano
of your sighs.
as we speak
in tongues,
each thought
stroked into bliss
making poetry
of our flesh
