It's always frustrating when the cloners try to copy something, but just don't quite get the original concept. Proper Wago connectors are actually a well refined design that clamps the wire onto the busbar securely and doesn't rely on the plastic housing for that function. The common clones often just make a similar looking connector, but miss the primary safety features.
As with all unbranded connectors bought from grey-import sources, these should only be considered for temporary connection in personal projects, and never used in situations where the safety of others could be affected by their failure.
Given the nature of the insurance industry these days, I'm pretty sure they hunt for any non-branded wiring components like these and use them to try and avoid paying claims even if they were not the cause of the incident.
