When you’re at the airport, you might use the moving walkways to get to your gate faster. This was the idea for creating the prototype from Rollkers – the shoe that makes you walk faster.

This is a prototype, and not for sale at the moment. The company – based in Iguerande, France – is looking for additional partners to help grow this new product. They have been building walking-assist style devices since 2015.

Rollkers have 2 tracks, so the unit can flex with your foot. Battery driven, these devices can double your walking speed (up to 7 mph). Sensors will determine if you’re moving forward, or standing still so they don’t continually push you.

The Rollkers battery will give you about 30 minutes of walking. This includes the LED light in front to help you see in lower light areas.

Currently, they weigh about 10 lbs, which could give you an additional workout.
