Dirk Hermann is currently the CEO of the trade union Solidariteit. He completed his doctorate in industrial sociology, with affirmative action as its theme. In addition, two books with affirmative action as a theme appeared from Hermann's pen, namely The Emperor is Naked: Why Affirmative Action Failed and Affirmative Tears: Why Representation Is Not Equality.

Dirk will be in conversation with Barend Uys, head of the AfriForum research institute on the relationship between the Solidarity Movement and traditional communities.
