16-year-old Nex Benedict was an Owasso High School student. Nex Benedict died the day after being beaten by classmates in the school bathroom. Speculation surrounded their death because of the earlier altercation, but Owasso police now say the medical examiner's preliminary report shows Nex did NOT die as a result of trauma. Nex's Stepmom, Loretta Black says the bullying might not have killed her directly but ultimately it led to her death.
