They tried to stop Christianity by force. Arrests, threats, murder. Steven was killed. Believers were hunted down. The message was supposed to die. Believers were supposed to cower. But instead of stopping the movement, the gospel spread. Those who were scattered did not stop preaching. 

They took it with them to new areas, cities, regions, entire cultures started hearing about Jesus for the very first time. Every attempt to crush the church, not only in the book of Acts, but throughout history, has only made it grow faster.

Why does persecution always backfire? And what does that mean for us today?
