The book of Jonah, chapter 3 beginning at verse 4, “And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day’s walk. Then he cried out and said, ‘Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!’ So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest and to the least of them.”
Jonah is the story about a city that had only a little more than a month before it was going to be destroyed. Seems to be that nobody at that time was aware of this fearful moment, that is, except God, and the messenger of mercy he sent to warn them.
Scripture tells us that all the people, even the king, humbled themselves before God. Because of this heart response, they were given mercy and they were spared. In America today it’s time for those who know God to speak.
It’s time to pray!
