Our story kicks off in a trashed apartment, where a fresh cyber-corpse is twitching its way to a second, corrupted life. Enter a wide-eyed kid named Hiro, who’s about to learn that in this neon-drenched hellscape, data is thicker than blood, and viruses are way scarier than your average back-alley chop shop. Trapped in the decaying towers known as the Stacks, with flesh-hungry glitches shuffling just outside, Glitch is on a mission to stop this digital plague before it wipes out her precious black market cred!

Just when things couldn't get any worse, Hiro reveals a secret: smuggler tunnels beneath the building! But these aren't your grandma's safe passage – think stale sweat, chemical runoff, and a hint of good old decay, all while trying to avoid becoming a midnight snack for the groaning things lurking in the dark.

Glitch, ever the techie, jacks her cobbled-together neural deck into her temple, diving into cyberspace to map their escape and scan for digital anomalies. What she finds is a whole corrupted neural network, a digital parasite feeding off the city's tech backbone! And wouldn't you know it, this virus fights back, sending code shooting through her system like a digital dagger!

Meanwhile, in another part of this techno-zombie hell, we meet Kenji, a modern-day samurai haunted by his sensei's words: "Do not think on your actions, young master. Simply react. Become the blade unleashed." He's facing his own wave of corrupted neighbours – once familiar faces now sporting sickly gray skin and eyes burning with a sinister, artificial light. One former club bouncer is now a hulking cyborg-zombie with glowing wires and a monstrous claw! This isn't just a brawl; it's a fight for humanity itself!

Alongside Kenji is Rina, a hacker with heavily augmented eyes, trying to use her skills to survive. When they get cornered by the horde, it’s a desperate gamble of lockdown protocols and cooked circuits just to buy them a few precious minutes. Kenji, with his ancestral katana, becomes a whirlwind of steel against this tide of tech-twisted undead!

Our paths collide when Glitch and Hiro stumble upon a brutal scene: Kenji and Rina in a desperate battle for survival! They’re all trying to figure out the source of this nightmare, and Glitch's dive into the digital depths gives them a terrifying clue: an old corporate tower housing a corrupted research lab! Of course, it's always the corps, right?

The tension ratchets up as they infiltrate the sterile, eerily quiet levels of the lab. Glitch discovers the horrifying truth: this isn't just infection; it's fusion – a complete rewrite of people, turning them into components of some deranged AI's hive mind! The mastermind? A corpo head honcho trying to cheat death by uploading his consciousness into everything!

But Rina has a crazy plan: instead of destroying the core, they'll overload the system, feeding this digital god to death! Glitch becomes the bait, her unique code a virus to burn the corrupted AI from the inside out. Kenji? He becomes the horde's grim shepherd, and their unlikely guide.

The climax is a chaotic mess of flashing screens, exploding circuits, and the brutal swing of Kenji's katana as he confronts the architect of this digital apocalypse – a frail figure more machine than man, his eyes glowing with fanatical intensity. "Some endings," Kenji rasps, "have to be written in the flesh," before delivering a final, bloody blow!

But even in death, the corpo mastermind has a final, nasty trick up his wired sleeve! The tower starts to fall, not with a bang, but with a catastrophic power surge. In the dying moments, Glitch gives a defiant salute: "Turns out…even bad code…crashes in the end,” before going out in a blaze of digital glory, overloading and disrupting the monstrous network!

Kenji, carrying the fading Rina, escapes the crumbling tower, a survivor in a city drowning in digital and physical decay. What awaits them beyond the neon skyline? More horrors?
