The world loves quotes! Whether they appear in a Meme, on a coffee cup, or a Tee shirt, we love the simplicity of Just a few words that really pack a punch.  It’s easy to make short phrases fit with our belief systems because there isn’t enough information in them to really qualify whether or not we agree with them, or if they are even true.  They sound good, make an impact, and we run with them without considering where they came from, or what the consequences of believing them might be.

It is no different in the Christian world, where we frequently hear good sounding ideas and assume that Jesus would be ok with them, or better yet, that He might have said the same thing.
