At the junior levels of business leadership is always considered to be something as done from the front. People are considered to be followers and leaders are considered to be people who know what has to be done and delegate information. But this immature definition of leadership cannot survive at the higher levels of business. Leaders at the higher levels of business come to realise that their duty is to communicate the destination and then make sure people stay in their commitment to that destination. Has to be a trust on both sides.
The trust a leader earns comes from understanding the order in the chaos. The person who has certainty about this order in the chaos has done their homework and he's not getting the path ahead. If we are guessing the path ahead we will not be a leader we will be a dominator. Uncertainty will prevail and that leads to stress on everybody. In this short video podcast I aim to describe some of the overlying principles of good leadership.
