Think the term "computer bug" is just geek slang?

Well, the first one involved an actual insect! In 1947, computer pioneer Grace Hopper and her team were debugging the Harvard Mark II computer when they found a moth stuck in a relay. The insect was physically removed, and the incident was dutifully logged as the “first actual case of a bug being found.”
While the term “bug” had been used to describe technical glitches since the 1800s, this literal bug gave it a whole new meaning! Today, software engineers owe a tiny moth a big thanks for the perfect metaphor.
