Call it what you like, but an accent wall is just that - a wall that accentuates the room.  A wall that is different from the rest.  A wall that makes a statement.  An accent wall can be made with simply paint, or wood, or fabric.  There are no rules.   Just have fun, and know that you can always change it.  Here is the link to the stick on wood I was talking about:
