NJ Subedi’s journey is an inspiring example of how self-learning, experimentation, and persistence can turn ideas into successful businesses. After stepping away from college, he pursued his entrepreneurial ambitions.Through Yarsa Games, the company entered the global mobile gaming industry, reaching millions of users and demonstrating that products developed in Nepal can succeed internationally.
But his vision extends beyond gaming. Through Yarsa Tech, NJ is working toward expanding Nepal’s electronics and hardware manufacturing capabilities, with the ambition of creating technology products locally rather than relying heavily on imports
However, building technology businesses in Nepal comes with significant challenges, including high operating costs, taxes on imported components, limited payment infrastructure, and difficulties protecting intellectual property. NJ has called for policy reforms to reduce unnecessary costs, support IT exports, improve access to international payment systems, and create a more business-friendly environment for Nepali technology companies.
His journey raises an important question: Can Nepal become a country that not only consumes technology but also builds and exports it to the world?
