Earlier this week, the price of petrol increased by 2-rand-37-cents per litre, diesel increased by 2-rand-30-cents per litre and the price of illuminating paraffin increased by 1-rand-66-cents per litre. Calls have been mounting for a shutdown in protest of the high cost of fuel, hikes in repo rate and inflation rate. This is as the government confirms that the fuel levy subsidy will not continue beyond August.
