 Intense downpours have lashed Cape Town for a second consecutive day leaving numerous roadways, houses and informal settlements flooded. Authorities say rainfall stations in the Metro have recorded between 34 and 120 millimetres of rain in parts in a short period. The cold and wet weather has resulted in widespread damage to property. These residents of the Covid and Dubai informal settlements at Driftsands are among the hardest hit where homes and cars are submerged.
