Fifty Early Childhood Development (ECD) practitioners have been protesting for access to the COVID-19 Relief fund that was promised two years ago. This past weekend, the group gathered outside of the Foundation for Community Works. The payment is meant to assist in subsidizing the operational costs of their centres during the pandemic. The foundation was contracted by the Western Cape Education Department to ensure ECD applications were processed and payments made to the preschools.There are 1 667 early childhood development institutions have not been paid and no timeframe on when these payments would be processed.
