Scores of Pensioners, some of them ill, had to stand for up to five hours waiting for their old age grants at the Westgate Mall in Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg yesterday. There were snaking queues as some of them travelled from different townships trying to avoid long queues at their local Sassa pay points. The problem was also experienced in various other parts of the country, with social distancing not being observed.
