The IEC yesterday (Thursday) released their political party funding report which revealed that the various funders of political parties. From the Oppenheimer family to the Patrice Motsepe’s donations which run into millions. This was for this year’s local government elections. These donations are revealed under the Section 9(3) of the Political Party Funding Act 6 of 2018 and its supporting regulations which require all registered political parties to disclose donations above the R100 000 threshold to the Electoral Commission.
