President Cyril Ramaphosa yesterday (Tuesday) announced that the Transnet Port Authority will be run independently. This was greeted as good news at the back of the announcement of a 51% SAA stake being given to a private entity. How should we interpret this and also, is the president taking the right direction towards privatisation? Will it attract the much-needed investment to the country?
