In the past 48 hours, two sexual assault cases have emerged on university campuses. Whilst the University of Stellenbosch has condemned any criminality on campus and provided assistance to affected students, the University of Cape Town has published a statement alleging that the student in question refused the assistance the university and refuting claims made by a Twitter account surrounding sexual assault on campus. When will campuses around the country become safe again? Where do we start in uprooting and addressing rape culture and university administrators?
