Former President Jacob Zuma will know his fate on Friday in relation to his urgent application for a stay of arrest. Judgment was reserved until the end of the week. Zuma's urgent application before the Pietermaritzburg High court ran over six hours with lengthy submissions from his lawyer, Advocate Dali Mpofu. His rescission application will be heard by the Constitutional Court next Monday. This past weekend we saw how many of his supporters gathered in Nkandla vowing to protect him against anyone who wants to take him to jail. Some of his supporters openly displayed guns and other weapons. This has left many people wondering what could happen if Zuma is indeed put in prison? Will we see violent situations as threatened by his supporters? What has this done to our psyche as a nation as we are all watching developments with keen interest?
