Third Church Sermons

This week we will finish the story of Samson, the final judge of Israel.

Elisabeth Hayes continues our Judges series this week and begins the story of Samson: the strongest man in Israel, enslaved to his own appetites and desires.

This Sunday we'll consider the danger of false worship: not simply worshiping the wrong god, but worshiping the true God according to false ideas about who God is. And we'll pay particular attention to the person who bears the terrible cost of Jephthah's distorted faith: his unnamed daughter.

This week we continue in our series on Judges and spend time looking at Jotham’s parable, which offers a sober warning about power and compromise.

This Sunday we'll look at the story of Gideon, which lies at the heart of the book of Judges.

This Sunday, Brooke Wright walks us through the epic story of God's deliverance and redemption through Deborah.

This Sunday we come to one of the strangest stories in the book of Judges: the story of Ehud, the left-handed judge. There is intrigue, violence and even some potty humor!

This Sunday we'll begin a new sermon series on the book of Judges. Judges tells the story of what happens when God's people slowly forget who they are and become like the world around them. Yet through it all, one remarkable truth remains: though God's people repeatedly forget God, God never forgets his people.

This Sunday we'll be taking a fresh look at our church mission statement, Called Together for the Renewal of All Things, and asking how we can be a part of that right where we already are.

Elisabeth Hayes closes out our summer in Philippians this week and explores Paul's secret of contentment.
