This Average Witch

In a world that tries to keep us so busy that we have a habit of falling into autopilot, it can be hard to find the time to work some little bits of magic into our daily lives. Today, we talk about little ways to practice the craft in the everyday. Ramp up that whimsy, honey. We're doing magic!

This week we're discussing house spirits and household deities. We tend to take our homes for granted but it may be time for more of us to begin building a relationship with our homes or inviting in a household deity to help us keep our homes safe, our food delicious, and our families healthy.

I'll be honest, I can't find any of my sources for this particular episode! (Ugh)

This week we're a little bit behind (again, my bad!) because I went down a massive rabbit hole searching for more info for this episode. I did my best to boil it down to the interesting and useful stuff for you all. I read a lot of science jargon in my quest to get a good idea of what exactly each theory was suggesting.

Today, we're switching it up a little bit by going back to an old episode. We're going to drag it forward and into the light today and take a look at shadow people and the Hat Man. Why? I'd love to hear your own stories of creepy shadow or Hat Man experiences, or any other creepy experiences!

Oh, and when you go to bed tonight...it may not be a bad idea to leave your radio playing.

This week we're talking about practice descriptors and the types of witches that are out there. You certainly don't have to claim a particular label for yourself (most of us witches are a bit rebellious, so not claiming a label is common!) Having an idea of what labels or practice descriptors would fit you can be helpful when making friends that practice similarly to yourself. Join April today and find out what type of witch you might be!

Today, we tread a bit into the very complicated and murky history of what witchcraft meant, what it means to be a practicing witch today, and what ultimately got me started on the path of the Craft.

*ETA: I just noticed that I misspoke at one point: I had meant to say that- "thankfully, they (magical healers, midwives, etc) seem to be the MINORITY though..." I believe the timestamp for where I misspoke is 13:09. I apologize for the mistake, but I'm glad I caught it before anyone else.
