In this episode, I talk about why many Black people don’t trust non-Black communities and where that mistrust comes from. This isn’t about blaming individuals or speaking for everyone – it’s a conversational breakdown of history, lived experience and patterns that have shaped how trust (or the lack of it) shows up today.
Given the current political and social climate, conversations about race and trust often turn defensive or get shut down completely. This video is an attempt to slow that down and actually explain why these trust issues exist, why they didn’t appear out of nowhere and why ignoring them only deepens the divide.
This discussion is for both Black and non-Black viewers who are willing to listen in good faith. You don’t have to agree with everything said here – the goal is understanding, context and honesty, not outrage or guilt.
