There's this tall old oak tree that stands in a small unknown town located on the outskirts of Gainesville, TX. This particular tree can still be found in the middle of my backyard back in my hometown. I loved spending time at that tree as a child and I see have fond memories of my father hanging a tire swing off of that tree and pushing me from it, with of course the distant sounds of my siblings playing and laughing in the background.

However, I recently found out that this old tree that once brought me so much joy as a kid, also brought death and misery to hundreds of people who once lived in my hometown.
